It's been said Gabriel is like a cross between MLB star Johnny Damon and American Idol season 9 hitmaker Adam Lambert.
Following the end of WWE NXT season one, Justin Gabriel shared a common displeasure about his treatment with his fellow Rookies. They would then come to Raw as The Nexus and attack anyone in their path until they were granted WWE contracts. The attacks by The Nexus on Raw General Managers, Superstars and WWE Legends would almost always be topped off with Justin Gabriels lethal 450 splash. Each time Gabriel executed his trademark maneuver, he sent a powerful message to each and every WWE Superstar.
On the Jan. 21, 2011 edition of SmackDown, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson and Heath Slater came before the WWE Universe to declare themselves The Corre. Barrett made it clear that unlike The Nexus, all four members of The Corre would be equals. They pledged to take SmackDown places it had never gone before.
