After the holidays I managed to book my computer in with a tech to install Windows 7 64-bit Edition. Then I installed Kasperski Internet Security and IOBit Advanced System Care Free-Edition, Mozilla Firefox and Skype, and went looking for Wurm Online

Instantly hooked on the game, I was more interested in playing despite the problems I was experiencing. As other players were having dc issues I didn't complain. I didn't know the difference between java crashes, client crashes, freezing issues, freeze-reboots and bluescreens though I was getting all of them. I accepted it all because Wurm was great. I lowered all my settings to minimum, ignoring compatibility tab, in the hope it would help. The problem was intermittent, sometimes really bad, sometimes not occuring at all for hours. Eventually I concluded that nothing had changed.

I started talking to the other players about PC issues, but at first the only advice I got was 'overheating'. I tried a heat-monitoring program but I couldn't find any useful data to share. Eventually someone pointed out that my graphics card was not a gaming card, and following the advice to the letter, I bought as good as I could afford - a Radeon VAPOR-X HD7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E OC-VERSION with proper onboard fans. After a while of play-testing I concluded that it hadn't changed anything. I tried making sure my Java version was correct for 64-bit, but 64-bit Java didn't improve anything noticably.

With overheating in mind I finally got around to getting another fan and got instructed on reapplying CPU compound at a computer shop. I discovered that all the installed fans blew inwards, so I had the case apart and ended up with 3 outward fans (including heatsink fan) and the forward fan inward oriented for through-flow. Didn't help.

Took the computer back up the shop. Drivers were updated and a problem with minimal paging memory were fixed. Didn't help.

Back up the shop again, all the hardware was stress-tested and passed, the techs couldn't replicate the problem. I opted in for a full format of the hard-drive and a reinstall of Windows 7 in case of viruses. Reinstalled all the basic programs, went back on Wurm, still the same issues.

Was instructed to try turning off all my security software, which I did to the best of my ability, to eliminate software conflicts. Didn't help.

I tried IOBit Game Booster 3, which appeared to upset a lot of things (though it coincided with the DDOS attack and I falsely blamed it) so System Restored. I read more forum posts and tried to install manufacturer graphics drivers, which caused a lot new issues including upsetting Kasperski and weird graphics issues - http://forum.wurmonl...strange-effect/ and still didn't improve anything. Tried to fix the issues with Catalyst Control Centre, couldn't, System-Restored.

It's a long saga of issues discovered and fixed but never identifying the true problem. I'm pretty much out of options except for the extreme of finding a computer shop that will let me sit and play Wurm in their back-room all day so I can demonstrate the problem in action. I'm hoping that someone here will have a bright-spark idea that may help

All my hs_err files state 0xc0000005 as the issue, I end up with several each day I play. My freeze-reboots and freeze-resets don't generate any codes anywhere I can find. The latest Bluescreen codes - yesterday's batch - were 4E, 4E, 3B, 50, and 1000007E. They range widely.

Please tell me what additional useful data I can post here to help identify the issue. I have too much data generated to post it all here. (Though having just learnt the spoiler code, it's not impossible to think of posting tons of data now.)
